Mission

At SC Galaxy Care, our mission is simple: to help people live safely, comfortably and joyfully at home, for as long as possible.

We do this by delivering high-quality, compassionate, individual-centred care that respects each person’s identity, history, culture and aspirations.

Our work is built on dignity, trust and genuine human connection. Whether supporting someone with complex medical needs, assisting with day-to-day tasks, or providing emotional reassurance, we believe every person deserves to feel valued, heard and at home.

Our Story

SC Galaxy Care was founded in 2013 by Mike Lewis, whose inspiration came from one remarkable woman: his grandmother Florence.

Florence was warm, sociable, proud of her independence — and known for proudly telling everyone she was “the same age as the Queen of England.” Like many older people, she spent her life working hard, supporting her family, and contributing to society. As she grew older, everyday tasks became more difficult. Healthcare conversations became complex. Technology moved fast. And the world around her changed in ways that sometimes felt confusing and isolating.

But she remained the heart of her family.

As Florence’s needs increased, Mike and his family wrapped their arms around her — not just to provide practical support, but to preserve her dignity, her identity, and her sense of home. They shared her worries and her tears. They helped her stay connected, reassured and included. And above all, they ensured she never faced her journey alone.

This experience became the foundation of SC Galaxy Care.

It shaped our belief that people don’t just need care tasks — they need understanding, empathy, cultural awareness, and a team who truly sees them.

Today, Florence’s legacy lives on in every care plan we write.

Florence's story

Florence worked hard all her life, paying thousands to the state in order to be looked after in her senior years.

She also found the time to support her son and daughter in law, helping them to raise her grandchildren however she could.

She is a homely, but sociable, and a proud and independent lady. She is always telling anyone that cares to listen that she is the same age as the queen of England!

Caring for Florence as she aged into retirement, it became apparent that she moved a little slower, became more forgetful, simple chores were more challenging and had difficulty in understanding modern technology and the changing world around her.

Complicated medical terminology used by healthcare professionals to describe her ailing health left her bemused.  We shared her tears, as she lost loved ones and friends dear to her, making her face the prospects of loneliness.

However, we wrapped our arms around Florence, eensured she was not lonely, looked after her wellbeing by supporting her and guiding her through the fast paced ever changing environment she calls home.
